The best kind of rain, of course, is a cozy rain. This is the kind the anonymous medieval poet makes me remember, the rain that falls on a day when you’d just as soon stay in bed a little longer, write letters or read a good book by the fire, take early tea with hot scones and jam and look out the streaked window with complacency.
~Susan Allen Toth, England For All Seasons
One day last week it had rained overnight. The morning brought this lovely golden light and Sophie was content laying on her playmat talking to her toys. I took this opportunity to grab my camera and head outside with the camera. I knew I didn’t have a lot of time, both because of the light changing and I knew Sophie would not stay content long. But… it was long enough.
I could have spent more time hunting for those little drops to capture… but I was just happy to have my camera in hand and be able to take a few beautiful shots. I miss this type of photography.. I must find more time for it in the new year.
These images were all edited using Kim’s Thursday Texture from last week.

So beautiful the light is amazing
Beautiful photos! Isn’t it wonderful when the stars align like that? I hope you get more opportunities!
Your captured the light and the drops in an awesome way. Very beautiful photography!
So very pretty! Love the colors and rain drops in your images.
Love the first one with the droplets ~ they look like jewels, but all are very nice. Very colorful. 🙂
Ah yes, those little drops. They refresh everything in our garden. The play of light in these shots is great.
