This week’s themes:
reading, eating, enjoying, learning, wishing
So with a Masters program comes a shit load of reading. Remember last week where I was all ‘I started a blog for me school work/reading…’, well this week I decide to put off my studies until September. I just don’t have the time to do all the reading. Between havin Sophie home all day and running a growing business I just can’t make the time for it. Luckily, here in Denmark, I am allowed up to 12 months of maternity leave from school as well. You can take it in two ways, you can study during your maternity leave, or you can take full leave. I can take it any time, and I have decided to take the rest of my maternity as full leave. This will take a great deal of stress off my shoulders.
I have been eating like crap lately. With the kids having been sick the last month, me being stressed I have been turning to comfort food after long days. Candy… and all that chocolate from Easter… and more Candy. Luckily I have not gained any weight from my binge.. on the other hand I am having a horrible fybromyalgia flare up this week. It is time to get a handle on my food situation as the excessive amounts of sugar always makes it worse. Oh… by the way… I’m eating candy right now….
This weekend I plan on enjoying some warmer weather and get out into our garden. I have decided to get caught up on work as much as I can today, then I am taking the weekend off. I am really looking forward to working in our own yard. It is really exciting when it is your own garden! We are broke, so that means I can’t plant any new flowers, but still the flower beds need to be cleaned out, some stuff needs to be taken out and other stuff taken out. I really can’t wait for days outside in the summer.
I am on the hunt for some free learning materials for the kids. I feel like at times they are behind. My daughter who is 5 can not identify all her letters or spell her own name (I should mention, that children do this stuff a lot later in Denmark than say in Canada). But still, I feel like this is my fault. I don’t spend enough time doing educational stuff with the kids. But I always find it difficult to find activities that they will all enjoy, so I need things that work for a 2, 4 and 5 year old. If you have any tips.. please share!
I have been wishing that we had the time and money to go and visit my family and friends in Canada. I have been really missing Canada lately and it really bothers me that my brother and sister-in-law have not had the chance to meet two of my children in person. And I really miss the mountains. And the nature. And the ease of communication. It will probably be a couple of years before we can afford it, but I can’t wait to take the kids to Canada and show them where I am from.
