This week I am going something slightly different with my currently post. However it is something that is currenlty going on, so it still works.
One morning earlier this week I came across a video a friend had made while I was checking out my Facebook feed. This is the video. You should watch it.
This is a long time friend of mine. As you could hear from the video she is suffering from Cervial Dystonia and is trying to raise awareness. I knew from the moment I saw this, that I had to do something to show this amazing person my support. You see, I have known her for as long as I can remember. All through out elementry school she was one of my big buddies. We went through girl guides together. She was there with and for me on one of the worst days of my life. She is older than me, and I honestly don’t know many teenagers that would let a young kid tag around with them all the time. I guess in many ways she was like a big sister.
It’s been a long time since we have seen each other. I live on the other side of the world now, but I still love her like family and want to show my support. I don’t have money to donate, but I can and did complete the #shakyfacechallenge with my kids. I have shared it on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and I am sharing her video here on my blog. I hope maybe some of you who read will also do the #shakyfacechallenge and share it on social media. It is super easy, you can do it with your phone. At the very least, I hope you will watch the video above. Suffereing from a cronicl illness myself I know the value of just having people know and understand what your illness is. It saves so much time and energy when we don’t feel the need to explain ourselves to other.
Nedeen is also trying to get Ellen to take the challenge. So I challenge those who take the #shakyfacechallenge to tag ellen when you do it. The more of us that do it, the more likely she will notice.
