It has been a while since I did a FairyLoot unboxing post. I think I have actually only ever done one other unboxing post. But I figured I should start doing them monthly since I am subscribed now and get a new box every month.

For those not in the know, FairyLoot is a YA subscription box that features a newly published hardback fantasy novel each month along with some bookish goodies. They are located in the UK, which is a huge bonus for me because it means I don’t have to pay extra taxes.

What was in the box

So… on to the unboxing. This post is featuring the Oh So Regal box from December 2017. I have to admit I was super excited about this box and was happily surprised when it arrived at my door quicker than usual. Here is a peek at the contents:

Oh So Regal

I am missing a couple of the extra items from this picture, but these are all the major items. Overall I was very happy about all the items in this box, which included:

A full-sized Funko Pop

An Exclusive Virtuous & Fair Zip Pouch

Exclusive Prince Candle from A Court of Candles

Exclusive Powerful Notebook designed by Stella’s Bookish Art

Exclusive Books Rule Enamel Keychain designed by Fiction Tea Designs

And of course, the book, Everless by Sara Holland with signed bookplate and letter from the author.

Bonus items: War of Storm Bookmark and Rosemarked Sampler.

My Favorite item

My favorite item from the Oh So Regal box is the Funko Pop. I got Repunzel and I LOVE it. I always love getting Pops in the boxes. A close second was the pencil case. I love the design, and the first thing I did when I opened the box was stop what I was doing and filled it up with all the pens that were roaming around my desk at the time. This month the candle was a bit on the smaller side, but it was still nice and smelled pretty good. I am not huge on key chains, so this will probably go to one of the kids.

The book

Look at the cover of this book! The cover of Everless by Sara Holland is stunning!! I don’t know much about this book, but I am really excited to read this one just based on the cover alone. It might jump ahead of the others in the queue of my to be read list. Here is a blurb about it:

In the kingdom of Sempera, time is currency—extracted from blood, bound to iron, and consumed to add time to one’s own lifespan. The rich aristocracy, like the Gerlings, tax the poor to the hilt, extending their own lives by centuries.

No one resents the Gerlings more than Jules Ember. A decade ago, she and her father were servants at Everless, the Gerlings’ palatial estate, until a fateful accident forced them to flee in the dead of night. When Jules discovers that her father is dying, she knows that she must return to Everless to earn more time for him before she loses him forever.

But going back to Everless brings more danger—and temptation—than Jules could have ever imagined. Soon she’s caught in a tangle of violent secrets and finds her heart torn between two people she thought she’d never see again. Her decisions have the power to change her fate—and the fate of time itself.

Sound good right?

Overall Impressions

Honestly, if a subscription box has a Funko Pop in it, it is going to be one of my favorites. This box did not disappoint. I am excited about the book, and I really liked the items in the box. My only negative thing is perhaps that notebook included is a bit too small for me to use, but I am sure one of my kids would love to have it. So while this box is not one of all time favorites, it is in the top half of book boxes I have gotten so far.
